PALL MALL BARBERS: REVIEW
I have recently been lucky enough to be treated to the traditional barber experience at Pall Mall Barbers original store in London's Trafalgar Square.
The store celebrates it's 122nd anniversary in 2018 and it's the home to Pall Mall's team of barbers, near Charing Cross and Piccadilly Circus. With a talented team of stylists, Trafalgar Square can offer grooming advice as well as contemporary and classic gents haircuts and all manner of barbering services – from luxurious wet shaves to beard trimming and styling.
My barber experience was fulfilled by Rainy, a true gent with over 15 years experience learning his craft. He has been based at the Trafalgar Square store for little over 10 months now and has managed to build up quite a large portfolio of clients chomping at the bit for his expertise! Upon arrival at this aesthetically pleasing store, I was greeted with a very tasty latte to kick-start my experience. Myself and Rainy talked through options and techniques on how I can achieve the style that I have been painstakingly growing my hair for over the last few months. We decided on taking it short on the sides and back (skin fade with foils) and just to texture the top as I am still in the process of growing it (not too long to go now!). Rainy is a true professional and has a vast knowledge of barbering and I would automatically recommend him to anyone looking to get a fresh trim! His skin fade and styling techniques are faultless.
The historic area of Pall Mall and history of barbers at Trafalgar Square inspired Pall Mall Barbers to create their own men's grooming range, including their signature Sandalwood & Clove cologne (which Rainy allowed me to sample and I loved!), shaving creams and brushes, double edge razors, beard oil and moustache wax and traditional wet shaving vouchers – all making perfect gifts for the modern gentleman.
I was lucky enough to come away with a gift bag containing Pall Mall Barbers Salt Spray which can be sprayed into wet hair prior to blow drying to give it extra texture and hold. The bag also contained a product named Pliable Clay which Rainy used to finish off and style my hair. Finally, a product called Pre Shave Scrub which was recommended to me by Rainy as the weather of late has left the skin around my beard quite dry and flaky. This product manages to remove the dead skin and moisturise the area. All of these products can be found at the Pall Mall Barbers Online Store.
Thanks so much to Rainy and the Pall Mall Barbers team. Definitely give the guys down at Trafalgar Square a visit; I highly recommend them! A huge thanks also to Mark Smith Media for arranging this amazing experience. Thank you Mark!
