Over the summer months I kinda caught feels for pastel backdrops in my blog posts; most notably pink backdrops.
The obsession hit new heights whilst on holiday in L.A and San Francisco throughout September due to the absolute vast amount of colourful buildings and all-round niceness (of everything)!
By far, the most notorious pink wall of them all has got to be Paul Smith's flagship store in West Hollywood. This wall is the king of geotagging on social platform Instagram and has been tagged in excess of 30,000 times! So as a homage to the pink wall, I offer you my first class tongue in cheek lesson in; How To Take A Picture With A Pink Wall!
Find a pink wall (this one being one of the most famous - Paul Smith's L.A store on Melrose Avenue).
Wear something that's obviously going to work with the pink wall.
Stand. Sit. Lay down. Balance on a wall.
Laugh to yourself about how serious you're now taking this.
Laugh at how ridiculous you look laughing to yourself.
Notice the audience (of four people) that’s now watching you.
Laugh because you feel uncomfortable and so does your friend taking the shot.
Notice two more people are now watching.
Notice that actually it doesn't matter who's watching as there are another six people working the same pink wall for their own Instagram page!
Work that camera lens and act up to all the people now watching what you're up to!
Bish, bash, bosh. The money shot!
To create the pink wall look I opted for a Reiss Pink Slim-Fit Shirt unbuttoned to the max for that laid-back summer vibe partnered with Primark Blue and Pink Flamingo Swim Shorts, white pumps and a slick pair of sunglasses from H&M.
That’s how you work the pink wall!
Where to find it: 8221 Melrose Avenue, West Hollywood
